A Win And Something To Build On
It was so great to get a win on Sunday over Detroit. We knew it was in us if we kept working hard, which we always do. You never take it for granted, so to pull it out was sweet for the team.
I felt I had a lot of good touches and was pretty effective. When you're a running back in this offense, you have to be involved in the passing game, too, so having eight receptions was important. We felt we could get some good matchups against the Lions and we did that, and Brett looked for me.
We are ready now for anything. We've tasted the wins and now we know what it takes. It's hard to win in this league. It's a fine line.
One thing that made me happy was seeing Brett take so much joy in performing well. He is the focus of so much and everybody looks at every move he makes, so seeing Brett jump around back there after our touchdowns was great.
Every week it is getting better and better. I don't want to get into what the national media think of me or where they should "rank" me, but I'm confident in my abilities. As long as we get it done up front -- and those guys are working and improving, because they are young -- I'm going to have my plays.
We play at Philadelphia on Monday night under the lights. I love it. It reminds me playing high school football again, so I know I'll be ready to have some fun. We have an extra day to prepare and see what the Eagles like to do with their defense. They come after you. I've played them enough to know that they are aggressive and they have a lot of fast and physical players.
We'll have our work cut out for us, but that's what the NFL is all about. You have to be ready to step up on every play. We did that on Sunday and got a well-deserved win. Now we need some more.
