Off to Montreal!
I have officially signed with the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL! I am very excited to start playing for Montreal and learn the dynamics of the CFL style of play. It has been a great run as a Packer, and I will be a Packer for life. I am looking forward to new experiences and challenges as I continue my career on the field.
I will be heading up to Montreal to check things out in the next few weeks with my wife. I am excited to become a part of the strong Montreal Alouettes organization and meet some of the devoted fans. It seems like a great place to play because it has such a strong fan base for support. It will definitely be a new and fun experience. The season starts in June and I will be in Montreal reporting from May 30th.
In order to prepare for the season, I will continue working out and keeping my cardio at a high level. It will definitely be a fun challenge to stay in game shape on my new team and in the new atmosphere. I love playing football, so I will keep playing as long as I am able to.
I enjoyed my time playing in Omaha in the UFL, so thank you to all my fans and supporters in Omaha! It was great to be back at home in Nebraska and fun to play in front of friends. I wish the season went better on the field, but it was an enjoyable experience. We had some issues within the UFL itself that seemed to disrupt the satisfaction of the players, including myself, but I guess that seems to be the case in the NFL too these days. I appreciate the support I received in Omaha from everyone!
I have been busy off the playing field as well continuing my teaching career at a local high school. I have been working with veteran teachers who are giving me some tips and sharing their teaching expertise. I am looking forward to learning the ropes and making a difference in the lives of young students. I am also doing some coaching and training with the high school football team in the weight room. I am happy to share some tips with the players and look back on my high school playing days. It has definitely been an enjoyable experience!
I hope the NFL owners and players can come to an agreement before the season starts. It will be a challenge for some of the rookies coming into the league to adjust to the NFL because they donít get the time working with veterans and coaches. I definitely think the lack of team preparation and practices will affect some of the rookies because they donít have the bonding opportunities together.
I will be sharing some of my NCAA Tournament picks in the next few days, so check back for an update! Thanks again to all my loyal fans and supporters! I am very thankful to have you guys.
