Playing The Wait-And-See Game As Free Agency Nears
I'm sitting here less than two days before free agency starts and I honestly don't know what is going to happen with me. I'm waiting patiently to see if the Packers and my agent are going to get something done before free agency starts. If not, I'll be ready to test the waters.
It's an exciting time. I'm kind of going back to what I experienced in high school. I may be taking a visit here and there, and that is an exciting prospect. At the same time, if all things are equal, I'd like to return to Green Bay and play with the Packers.
I'm a very patient person, so that's a plus in ths situation. Green Bay has been great and the fans are wonderful. At the same time, if I reach free agency, I have to look at it as a new opportunity to find a good fit and find more success.
If that happens, there are a few factors that are important to me. I want to go to a team that a chance to win the Super Bowl. I want to be a good fit in the offense and have a good role on the team.
Second, the compensation part is important. I just want to be treated fairly.
I would prefer to stay in a West Coast offense because I wouldn't have to learn much, because the verbiage would pretty much be the same.
We'll see how things go. I'm in touch with my agent every other day or so. I check in with him and see where he is at with the Packers. That's about all I know. They are working on things, but free agency is also coming fast.
I will update you here as soon as I know something.
