First TD of Season Comes in a Big Win
We performed very well yesterday in a big win over the Seattle Seahawks. The final score was 48-10 and I feel like we dominated the game on both sides of the ball. I finished the game with 29 rushing yards and my first TD of the year. It felt real good to be able to finally get that TD and do my first Lambeau Leap in a few years. I am very pleased with our performance this weekend. The offensive linemen cleared some holes for me, and then I finished the job by banging around and forcing my way into the endzone. I like to make very physical runs, so it felt good to be able to power through the defense and come away with the TD. Our running game was very strong yesterday, with Ryan Grant and Brandon Jackson also coming away with multiple TDs. We have been showcasing our talent to the league all season, but this game was definitely a convincing victory.
Looking ahead to a big game this coming Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, we will need to come out strong and be ready for a very tough and physical game. The Cardinals are also 10-5 and have sealed a playoff spot. However, this game will be crucial for momentum heading into the playoffs. As the last regular season game of the year, we want to finish the season on a strong note and have as much momentum as possible going into the playoffs. This game against the Cardinals will be just as important for us as the game against the Seahawks. We need to approach each game as a “must-win” from this point on. The Cardinals have a strong offense with a ton of weapons at WR and running back, including Beanie Wells and Tim Hightower. Larry Fitzgerald is one of the top receivers in the NFL, so our defense will have a lot of weapons to control. The Cardinals have been somewhat streaky this year, but we will prepare to face the Cardinals team that made it to the Super Bowl last year. Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald are two of the toughest WRs to stop in the NFL. We will come out strong and prepare to face a tough Cardinals team in the last game of the regular season.
I am very happy with my role in the offense this year. We have been successful with the split of carries among the 3 RBs: myself, Ryan Grant, and Brandon Jackson. Our offensive line has done an awesome job this year. Everyone in the offense has been clicking. I am very pleased with our progress from the beginning of the year, and we will look to continue the improvements heading into the playoffs.
I am excited for the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl matchup between my Nebraska Huskers and the Arizona Wildcats. The game is this Wednesday night, so I am excited to see what Nebraska can do to beat a tough Arizona team. Arizona beat USC earlier this year, so they are definitely a quality opponent. Nebraska played a tough game against Texas and came away with a last-second loss, so it would be great to finish the season with a bowl victory.
