Ahman Green on the Market
Friday, March 2, 2007
For the first time in his career, Ahman Green is testing the open market.
The Green Bay Packers weren't able to come to an agreement with Green before Thursday night's deadline, and he became an unrestricted free agent. The Packers can still sign him, but now they must compete with other teams.
The first will be the Denver Broncos. According to two published reports, Green is visiting the Broncos Friday night.
They look to be a good fit. Denver just traded away its leading rusher from a year ago, and runs the same zone blocking scheme the Packers run and that Green used in college in Nebraska.
Anothe team believed to be interested is the Texans, which would reunite Green with Mike Sherman, who's now Houston's offensive coordinator.
Green is seeking a contract worth around $5 million a year.
