Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Matt Schaub completed 26-of-31 throws for 267 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Houston Texans to a 28-21 victory over the Detroit Lions at Reliant Stadium. Andre Johnson had 11 receptions for 141 yards, and Owen Daniels caught six passes for 66 yards, including two touchdowns, for the Texans (2-4), who have now won two straight after losing their first four. Steve Slaton and Ahman Green each found the end zone once, as they combined for 142 yards on 31 carries. Houston scored touchdowns on its three opening drives of the game and was able to hold off a fierce fourth quarter rally by Detroit. The Lions scored 11 points in the final frame, but a last second lateral play was unsuccessful, securing the Texans' victory. The Texans were able to outgain the Lions on the ground, 150-77, while also dominating the time of possession, holding the ball for just over 40 minutes. Dan Orlovsky completed only 12-of-25 passes, but he threw for 265 yards and a score, with no interceptions, in his second career start for the Lions (0-6), who have lost their opening six games for the first time since 2001, when the team finished 2-14. Orlovsky will be the starter for the remainder of the season after Jon Kitna was placed on injured reserve last Tuesday with a back injury. Calvin Johnson had two receptions for 154 yards, including a 96-yard touchdown. Mike Furrey hauled in six balls for 89 yards, and Kevin Smith gained 61 yards on the ground, with a score, on 10 carries for Detroit, which was playing its first game without wide receiver Roy Williams, who was traded to Dallas earlier in the week.
